Fred Horbay

Fred Reynold Horbay passed away peacefully at home in Canmore on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the age of 88 years. He will be greatly missed by his family.

Predeceased by his wife, Joyce in 2004, Fred is survived by his children, Georgina (Keith) Clark, Fred Jr. (Debbie) Horbay and Leslie (Gerry) Horbay as well as his seven grandchildren, Brent (Mel), Trevor (Jo) Clark, David Horbay, John (Sarah) Horbay, Joyce Ann (Trevor) Patterson, Blake Horbay and Lesley-Anne Horbay. Fred also has 8 great grandchildren, Natalie and Isaac Clark, Lyra Clark, Gina Patterson, Jake, Seth, Joel and Skyler Horbay. He will also be sadly missed by the last surviving family member, his brother, Bill Horbay (Willie) of Ottawa, Ontario and his many nieces and nephews. Also missed by his close friend Renate Brockmeyer of Canmore.

Fred was very involved in the community of Canmore for many years. He owned and operated Horbay's Sport Shop on Main Street, along with his wife Joyce for 43 years.

The families wish to thank the medical professionals in the Bow Valley, the EMS as well as the caring community for their love and support throughout the years.

At Fred's request, a private family funeral service was held.
