Frank Joseph Dyrgas was born to Frank and Rose, at home, on the banks of the Bow River in Canmore, 83 years ago, the eighth of ten children. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Barbara, and daughters, Wendy Leskosek and Sharon (David) Perras. He also leaves his grandchildren, Corina (Scott) Lecours, Joshua Leskosek, Jaime (Tyler) Nowell and step grand daughter, Charmaine Perras as well as great grandchildren, Mathieu and Alexis Lecours (and their father Stephane), and Kaylee Nowell as well as his sister, Caroline Tyson and brother Leon (Vera), and sister's in law, Patricia Dyrgas and Patricia Thompson. He is also survived by one cousin, Doreen Wilson, and nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention, but greatly loved. Frank was predeceased by seven siblings; Mary Salvaag, Mike, Anton, Elsie Armstrong, Frances Love, Pauline Ullrich, Joe Dyrgas and his son-in-law, Randy Leskosek and an infant grand daughter.
Canmore was home for over 73 years until Frank and Barbara moved to Kelowna, BC, and just recently to Kamloops, BC. Frank's last few days were spent in Overlander Residential Care Home, (Evergreen) in Kamloops. We will be forever grateful for the kind, compassionate caregivers there.
The family hosted a gathering of friends and family in Canmore on Saturday, May 5, 2018 in St. Michael's Anglican Church. Frank's ashes were placed in the columbarium in the Canmore Cemetery, facing the mountains, in a private family service.
