Francis Wolny

It is with the saddest of hearts that we would like to share that Franceszka (Francis) Josephine Wolny passed away at the Canmore Hospital on Monday, January 3, 2022 at the age of 104 years.

Francis is survived by her daughter Barbara (Bill) Lewis of Rosedale, AB. and her grandson Perry Frayn of Calgary, AB.

Francis was born in Poland on July 07, 1917. She lived in Kamienica in the district of Gmina W?growiec. She immigrated to Canada in 1957 with her daughter Barbara to join Tomas in East Coulee, AB where he worked in the mines. The family later moved to Canmore where Tomas worked in the mine.

Well known around the Canmore area for her cheerful smile, great sense of humor, and the beautiful garden and flowers she grew at the home she lived in up until her passing.

The care and effort put forward by the entire Canmore Hospital staff did not go unnoticed by Francis or her family. You showed Francis such compassion when she was in hospital. Thank you for making it that little bit easier for her and all of us.

Francis will be missed by many.
