After a short illness, Esther Annabelle Beattie (nee Webster) passed away at St. Martha's Care facility in Banff, Alberta on April 22, 2012 in her 96th year.
Survived by her dear daughter Beth Ann Beattie in Banff; sister Lila (Jack) Nuttall of Penticton, BC; also sister-in-law Isabel Webster of Appin, ON as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Esther was predeceased by her parents Earl and Amy Webster of Appin, ON; her beloved husband Stanley Beattie in Melbourne, ON; brother George Webster of Appin, ON; sister Amy Daniel of Penticton, BC and sister-in-law Dorothy Gregory of Port Stanley, ON.
Esther gave many years helping others by teaching school, through her church work and volunteering at local nursing homes.
Following cremation, a memorial service was held on May 5, 2012 in the Melbourne United Church, Melbourne, ON.
Her ashes were then buried at the Longwood Cemetery to be with her beloved Stanley.
In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to remember Esther may make donations, in her memory to the memorial funds at the Rundle Memorial United Church in Banff, AB; the Melbourne United Church and Sunday School in Melbourne, ON or to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind.
Special thanks to all the staff at St. Martha's Place and the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital for the care and attention given to Esther during her time there.
