Elwyn Alfred Smith, resident of Banff since 1946, passed away peacefully at the Col. Belcher long term care facility in Calgary
at the age of 98 years.
Elwyn will be lovingly remembered by his sons Robert (Arlene) and Bruce (Marian) as well as his grandchildren Stephen (Jill), Dianne, Kelsey (Tim) and Kristen (Matt). Elwyn was predeceased by his three wives, Bobbe in 1950, Nan in 1980 and Doris in 1992.
Elwyn was very active in the community during his 68 years in Banff.
He was a member of the curling club, the golf club, Kinsmen, Rotary and later in the Banff Seniors Society and was a 70 year member
of the Masonic Lodge in Banff.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital and the Carewest Col. Belcher in Calgary for the compassionate care that Elwyn received during the last nine months.
A gathering of friends and family will take place at 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the Banff Seniors Center.
In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to remember Elwyn may make a donation, in his memory, to the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 1050, Banff T1L 1H7
