Elsie Rose (Dyrgas) Armstrong

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beautiful, sweet, precious mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mom was born and raised in Canmore where she resided most of her life with the exception of living for a time in Drumheller where she and her husband, Johnny Armstrong had five children. Left to remember mom's sparkling eyes and beautiful face is her son, Robert John Armstrong (Sheri), daughters Margaret (Tim) Ewing, Roberta Summerhays, Linda Redmore and Heather Armstrong as well as Mom's cherished grandchildren, Jason Ewing (Alisha), Lori Powell, Chris and Wade Summerhays, Jordan Armstrong, Taylor and Stephanie Armstrong, Tim Redmore, Kate (Redmore) Lamberton (husband Mike) and cherished

great-grandchildren, Kobe, Morgan & Grayden Ewing,

Tyson & Kassidy Rose Powell, Abigayl Lamberton and

Lea & Jack Summerhays.

Mom is also survived by her brother Leon Dyrgas (Vera), Frank Dyrgas (Barbara) , sisters Pauline Ullrich and Caroline Tyson. Mom leaves many nieces and nephews whom she adored as well as many of her life-long community friends.

Mom was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Rose Dyrgas,

sisters Mary and Francis, brothers, Mike, Tony and Joe Dyrgas.

Mom was an inspiration to all of us and showed strength and determination through her illness especially in the last three months. Mom loved to laugh and always had to have her hair, lipstick and makeup on perfectly. She loved to be dressed perfectly, wear her jewelry and wore two or three pieces daily, changing out one which was given by each of her children, always showing pride in her appearance, a true icon. Most of all, she was the greatest most generous Mom her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren could ever have.

Rest in Peace our precious Mom, we love you and you will forever be in our hearts. Jesus has one more special angel.

Funeral Service was held at Ralph Connor Memorial United Church in Canmore on Wednesday, March 23.

Private family service of interment at Canmore Cemetery with luncheon followed the funeral service at Canmore Legion.
