Elsie Mae Edmonds passed away peacefully at St. Martha's Place
in the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital, after a short stay there with kind and caring staff.
Born in Lethbridge, Alberta, Elsie worked with Alberta Government Telephones after high school, until moving with her parents and sisters to Banff in 1951. In Banff she worked for the Imperial Bank until 1959, then went to Calgary to be Secretary of the First Baptist Church, a position she held for 19 years. From 1978 until 1985 she lived in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, working as secretary for the professor of Theology at the University there, returning to Banff and ending her working years as a bookkeeper/accountant for the Cascade Hotel.
After her retirement in 1991, she remained active in the community
as treasurer for the Banff Seniors Association for several years,
as well as being an active member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church
in Banff, a continuation of church work to which she had remained dedicated throughout her life.
Elsie is survived by two sisters, Mavis Edmonds of North Vancouver and Shirley Pearson of Banff, as well as nephews Russell and Ryan Pearson of Vancouver and niece Carol Pearson of Banff.
Those who knew her will remember her kind, gentle
and generous spirit.
Rest in Peace
