Ellen Hannington Makin, originally from Glasgow, Scotland, passed away in Mineral Springs Hospital in Banff on Saturday, January 23, 2010. Ellen will be remembered by many for her love for her family, compassion and quick wit.
Ellen was predeceased by husband Bill and brother-in-law Harry Cook. She is survived by her loving family: daughter Ann, son Grant and wife Brenda; grandchildren Dexter, Carter and wife Becky and great grandson Mason; sister Sheila Cook, nephews Brian (Brenda) Cook and their children Aleesha and Neil; Gordon (Sheila) Cook, their children Andrew, Owen (Erin) and daughter Leila.
A special thanks to Jo and husband Colin and all caregivers of Cascade House and Mineral Springs Hospital for their care and compassion. Many thanks to Ellen's special friends for their support and understanding through her life journey.
At Ellen's request, there will be no service.
