It is with deep sadness that we mourn the loss of our sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, matriarch and friend. After a short illness, Eleanor passed away in her favorite place in the world, her beloved mountains with her family by her side in Canmore, Alberta at the age of 95 years.
Eleanor will be forever missed by her son Ted and wife Ruth, by her sister Mary-Anne Faddies and an extensive number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in laws and many friends. Eleanor was predeceased by her son Tom, grandson Jim, brothers Harvey (Myrna, Florence), Roy (Betty), Ron Blackmore and brother in law Tom Faddies.
Eleanor was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario by parents Reginald and Leah Blackmore. After raising her sons, Eleanor went on to obtain her RNA Certification and to a rewarding career in the medical field.
Eleanor's many interests included travel, walking, hiking, reading, cooking, shopping and devoting herself to her family. She was a great story teller and was the family historian. She was creative, humorous, dynamic, passionate and loving. Eleanor's "Philosophy For Life" was: Roll with the punches, Listen to your hunches, Learn to forgive, Just Laugh, Love and Live!
Interment will take place at a later date at the Chesterfield Cemetery in Ontario.
