Dorothy Baroni, long time resident of Canmore, passed away peacefully in the early evening of Friday, October 15, 2010 at the age of 90 years.
She is survived by her son-in-law, Robert Hart of Edmonton; daughter-in-law Elizabeth Fisher of Canmore and five grandchildren Robert Hart, Richard Hart, Linda-May Hart of Edmonton, Donna Kubista and John McKnight of Canmore as well as seven great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters Leona, Myrna and Karen as well as her best friend of over 30 years, May Riva.
Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved common-law husband Joseph Dobradi, her son Kenneth John Fisher, daughter Dorothy Ann Hart, two sisters, Sylvia and Helen; four brothers, Esdale, Ivan, Stanley and Dennis and her parents Austin (Tom) and Ann Wills.
Dorothy was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Three Sisters Branch # 3 in Canmore for 60 plus years.
Following Dorothy's explicit request, a funeral service was held at the Ralph Connor Memorial United Church on Thursday, October 21, 2010. Interment followed in the Canmore Cemetery. A gathering of friends and family was held at the Canmore Royal Canadian Legion.
In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to remember Dorothy, may make donations, in her memory, to the Canmore and Area Health Care Foundation, Cancer Treatment Center, 1100 Hospital Place, Canmore
