It's with great sadness we say goodbye to Dianne Marie Kelly. Dianne passed in the arms of her Cope at Golden Eagle View in Canmore on Friday evening July 8th. Dianne leaves her husband Don Copeland,
her son Troy Barnes and his wife Michelle and granddaughter Micha, brother Lane Kelly, sisters-in-law Leona Kelly and Lynda Rajkumar, mother-in-law Elinore Copeland, nephew Mark and Lori Kelly, niece Selina Kelly and many, many others that called her Auntie Dianne
Dianne was born in Calgary to Jack and Hazel Kelly and spent her childhood in Exshaw along with many cousins. She went to high school in Banff and college in Red Deer gaining a degree in social work. Dianne also lived in England for a while working at a private school. Dianne travelled in Southern Europe, Mediterranean and Caribbean for a few years before settling in Alberta, working for various legal agencies in Fort McMurray, Edmonton and Calgary. Dianne was passionate about working with young offenders and had many successful cases. Dianne finished her career in Calgary at the youth criminal defense office.
She really made a difference in people's lives
Dianne met her sweetheart Cope in 1999 and married in 2007 and called Airdrie home. They enjoyed many camping trips, rodeos, trips to the Okanagan, music, visiting family, gardening and just being together. She loved her cats dearly, loved to read books, and also found a passion for jewelry.
Dianne's health deteriorated in 2009 and has lived in Canmore Golden Eagle View since 2013, where she loved to sing-along to music, going breakfast club, getting her hair and nails done, having visitors, reading about the royal family and of course watching TV. She also loved getting downtown shopping with Cope when the weather permitted. Dianne's feisty, unfiltered honesty often came out and put a smile on staff and volunteers faces
No service is planned at this time, but we would like everyone that knew and loved her to remember and celebrate Dianne's life in their own way.
Her Passions, Honesty, Generosity and Love will be dearly missed by all.
Don and family would like to extend many thanks to the care community of Canmore and especially Golden Eagle View staff and the many volunteers, and Drs. Michalyshyn and Eeles.
A donation in Dianne's name to Canmore Health Foundation, Golden Eagle View or The Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated
