Dennis was predeceased by both parents, mother Mary (nee Krutop) and father Michael.
Dennis loved life doing what he loved most, Making Music and performing for the crowd wherever and whenever the opportunity arose. The" Big D" or " The Dude" as he was known by many was someone who loved life and his community of friends. A gentle soul, Dennis was an individual with special qualities, including his Cowboy logic, wit and sense of humour, and his compassion and understanding.
Dennis was a unique individual who was able to choose his own path as a musician and spent 40 plus years performing throughout Western Canada at ski hills, pubs, Stampede, corporate events and rodeos and even by the mountain campfire in a snowy spring. Always performing with pride and gusto.
His "Lonesome Highway" CD very much epitomizes his personal musical journey. For those in the Bow Valley, Dennis will always be remembered as one of the legendary Swillbillies. He performed for the "Who's Who, The Who's Not, Princes and Thieves" and they all partied together. He made it "Happen".
Over the years he made countless friends and will be missed by many including those that were by his side in the Banff community - Shane Coultis Sr., Gary Beatty, David and Marie Swanson, Naffin Family, Craig Paton, the Legion Family and so many more.
Dennis was large in stature, personality and spirit. He valued his friendships greatly and worked at sustaining them through frequent return visits to the Lower Mainland of Vancouver to see friends and family. Many of those friendships having endured from school days.
The only unknown being 'when' he would reappear.
He will be sorely missed.
