David Powell

David Gilbert Powell, lifelong resident (for ever and ever) of Banff, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Mineral

Springs Hospital.

Born to John and Eleanor and raised in Banff, David was an amazing meat cutter and dedicated family man. Dave owned Dee Gee Meats and grocery, and later Dave's Meats. It was often said, if you didn't like Dave Powell, you didn't know him. He was a friend to everyone. Dave loved fishing and golfing and was the happiest when he was in the mountains, hiking and skiing and taking advantage of everything the mountains offered.

Predeceased by his sons, Darren and Cameron, David is survived

by his loving wife, Gloria, sons Christopher, Lorne and Colin,

five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Dave was predeceased by seven siblings, all born and raised in Banff.

The family would like to express their extreme thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Martha's Place at the Mineral Springs Hospital. You could not ask for finer, more loving care.

He will be forever missed by Gloria and his family. Although he is gone from this life, he will never be forgotten.

A Celebration of life will be announced later in the Spring
