David Junker

On March 21, 2013 VE6DJJ went silent.

David Junker loving husband of Kimmiesu and father of Scott, passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary after a successful double lung transplant in

October 2008.

David is also survived by his mother, Bonnie (Peter) Berger;

father Jim (Judy) Junker; sister Shari Blanthorne and children Steven and Shannon; and his mother-in-law Dorothy Borreson. David was predeceased by his son Michael in 1992 and father-in-law Howard Borreson in 2007.

Throughout his life, David drove his own truck and provided courier and transport service, firstly with Canmore Courier and then with Sameday Rightoway and the remainder of his career with The Rosedale Group in Calgary. He loved to see the out doors through the window of his truck and he never tired of this. David was active in the ham radio operators community, was an active volunteer both with the MS Society and the Children's Choice (a non-profit society)and more recently in the Calgary Canadian Transplant Games.

The family would like to thank his doctors and caregivers for helping David through many difficult times.

A private family funeral service will take place later in the year.

Friends wishing to remember David are asked to seriously consider organ donation in their lives. Donations in David's memory would be greatly appreciated to the Canadian Transplant Association
