David Casovan

d. March 17, 2019

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of David Donald Casovan on Sunday, March 17, 2019. He was born on January 3, 1952 in Edmonton, AB to Bill and Mary Casovan.

David will be lovingly missed by his wife of 42 years, Connie, daughters Kathryn (Grant) and Therese, Granddaughter Makenna and Grandson Callum. David will also be missed by siblings Richard (Margaret),

Barb (Doug), Joan (Willie), Jane, Larry (Sandy), and Peter. He was predeceased by his parents as well as brother Al and baby Geraldine.

David had a passion for life with a wonderful contagious laugh.

He was the first to lend a hand to friends and strangers and you

were very fortunate to have him as a friend. David was a fantastic family man doing whatever he could for his daughters, travelling from one end of Alberta to the other. He was devoted to his wife, and no one was happier than he when his grandchildren arrived.

David had a stellar career, diligent and devoted to his craft. He was

always expanding his knowledge as a Quality Assurance Manager in the Oilfield. He enjoyed his work but especially the people he met

along the way.

David also had a passion for sports, whether participating or cheering on his beloved Eskimos and Oilers despite a win or loss. David loved his golf and always looked forward to his and Connie's annual golf camping trips in the mountains.

Special thank you to Dr. Nizar Bahlis, Anna Giulione, and the

nursing staff of the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, the nursing staff at

Unit 36 of the Foothills Hospital in Calgary and Fiona, Ashley and Marguerite at the Canmore Cancer Centre.

David had a special devotion to his religion and was sure to attend weekly Mass wherever he was. Requiem Mass was celebrated

in Banff at St. Mary's Parish (across from the hospital)

on Friday, March 22, 2019 with cremation following.

A gathering of friends and family in a reception

followed at the Canmore Golf & Curling Club.

Visitation was held on Thursday, March 21

at Bow River Funeral Service in Canmore.

Memorial donations can be made, in memory of David, to the Southern Alberta Myeloma Patient Society (www.southernalbertamyeloma.ca).
