It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David William Becker in Banff, Alberta. He is survived by his children Darryl (Tanya), Suzanne (Walter), Cheryl (Mike), Scott (Jennifer) and his grandchildren Brandyn, David, Brooklyn, Autumn, Kyla, Dylan, Heather, Steven, Trevor, Trent, Tyler, Tadd and his great grandchildren Sarah, Jade, Cienna, Tanner, Conner, Rhett, Tessa. David, born in Vancouver, was the only son of David and Clarice Becker.

David was an avid railway enthusiast who volunteered at Heritage Park Railway days in Calgary from 1997-2015. David worked for the Bank of Montreal from 1958-1964, BC Hydro from 1964-1969 and Canadian Airlines from 1969-1994.

In 1997 David moved from Vancouver to Canmore where he was a

co-owner of Fairview Books and Gifts from 1996-2002. He worked

for Petro Canada Canmore from 2002, Howard Johnson Hotel from 2002-2003, Four Points by Sheraton from 2005 - 2008, Mountain Esso from 2009-2015. He retired in 2015, however did some volunteering for the Canmore Museum in 2016.

He enjoyed going for drives looking at the scenery, going for long walks and spending time with family and friends. He was never happier than when he was with his family.

David was known for always smiling and providing a positive attitude. He will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched.

The family would like to thank Dr. Clem and the doctors and nurses at the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital for all the care they provided.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at the

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Banff where people

were invited to join with both his family and his church family.

In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to remember David are requested

to please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation,

in his memory.
