David (Bammer) Raham

d. October 23, 2016

We lost our son David (Bammer) James Raham on Sunday,

Oct 23rd 2016 at the age of 57 years, in a job related accident.

With many wonderful happy memories, he leaves behind his parents, Marian and George Raham, his brother Doug (Cappy) Raham,

Doug's wife Brenda and children Logan and Melinda.

He was born April 7th 1959 in Toronto. but moved to Calgary before his 1st birthday. In 1968, his parents bought a small cabin in Harvie Heights and his future life in the mountains was cast. The friendships he made in the "valley" were to last him to the end.

He was an avid skier and in the early years and was a member of the Mt. Norquay Ski Racing Club, where many lasting friendships were formed. He got to know the mountain so well, that when an opportunity came to learn the art of snow grooming, he got the job. After many years of grooming at Norquay, he moved to Sunshine, where he spent 20 years grooming the slopes. David enjoyed the challenge of operating various types of equipment. Through the years of gazing at the nighttime stars, he gained an avid interest in the wonders of the Universe.

Between seasons, he became an accomplished bartender at several locations in Banff, notably Melissa's, Tommy's and the Voyager. There were many friends to be found there also.

In his late 30's, he discovered Golf, and it became his summer obsession. His enthusiasm brought his Mom and Dad into the game for their first time. We enjoyed many days on the golf course with him. For him it was a new world, and another opportunity to meet new friends. He was never happier than when he was with his golf buddies, chasing the little white ball around any available golf course.

His dream job came with Parks Canada, where he worked with equipment on highway maintenance. He enjoyed his work and the people who worked with him.

A Celebration of Bammer's Life was held on Saturday,

November 19, 2016 in the Creekside Hall of the

Canmore Senior's Centre.

It was requested that Bammer's friends come out

to tell some stories and re-live great memories of him.

No flowers, thank you.
