Humble. Kind. Patient. Loyal.
Darryl Todd Zimmer passed away peacefully on the evening
of June 1st, in the loving arms of his wife Kari.
Darryl is best known as a long-time Banff local, CIBC Commercial Banking Manager and father.
Darryl was proud to volunteer on the Whyte Museum Board of Directors and was a firm supporter of our local YWCA's fundraiser, 'Walk a Mile in Her Shoes'; raising money and awareness for domestic violence prevention. Darryl was the most dedicated father; who loved coaching his daughter's hockey, jumping on the trampoline, and teaching his girls the fine points of mathematics.
Darryl will continue to be treasured by his wife Kari, their four children: Cimone and Dannika Zimmer (Banff), and Kelvin and Farrah Todosichuk (Vancouver/Victoria), his parents Ron and Gwen Zimmer (Vancouver/Phoenix) as well as his sister and her family: Laurie, Doug, Lucas & Colton Bottrill (Port Coquitlam).
Darryl asked to express his sincere gratitude to all of the caring
nurses and staff at the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital, Alberta Homecare and Alpine Medical. Most importantly, a deep heartfelt
thank you to Dr. Stephen Shigeishi for his endless care and compassion throughout Darryl's illness.
Darryl and his wife Kari, would like to also thank the many friends who supported them through this part of their journey and for those who took the time to visit Darryl, Kari & the girls. Each of you helped to make these past few months an easier place to be. Special appreciation to Jocelyne Lafond, Andrea Donnelly, Brig Hopkins, Val Heath, Marty Villemaire, Albert Moser, Neil Tanner, Peter Aurora, Eric Harvie,
Gabi Moravcik, as well as Kati & Yannis Karlos, Rich Mottram and the Banff Hospitality Collective. Finally, the deepest thank you to the beautiful families and staff from Our Lady Of The Snows for their endless love.
It was Darryl's wish not to have a public memorial service. Instead, he asks his friends, co-workers and clients for these four things: to make a toast in his memory, to keep an eye out for his three Banff Girls, to get screened regularly for cancer, and to please donate generously to Cancer Research.
