Corinne Natalie Killeen

d. December 3, 2011

Corinne had a three and a half year long battle with cancer which didn't stop her from enjoying life. Corinne will be lovingly remembered by her husband Warren, son Cole and daughter Joelle, parents Gary and Charlotte Soost, brothers Kurt Soost, (Evelyn, Cassyn, and Jessa), and Richard Soost and father-in-law Donald J. Killeen in Winnipeg.

Corinne was a devoted, loving, caring and nurturing mom to Cole and Joelle. Her children were the center of her universe and she could be seen sitting at the kitchen table doing homework with them regularly, standing at the soccer fields in the summer and sitting in the stands vocally cheering them on. Cole loved his late night TV sessions and driving with his mom because it was just the two of them. Joelle's fondest memories are of cuddling and talking with her mom. Charlotte and Gary are loving and devoted parents to Corinne and during her illness were a constant support for her. Words cannot express the efforts made by Kurt; his love for Corinne had him searching the globe for a cure. Rich loved Corinne dearly and will miss his movie and Bellini nights with his sister. Corinne cherished her time with her family.

Corinne enjoyed relaxing at the family cottage every summer and playing at the beach with her kids. It was her dream to retire at the cottage in the summers and to retreat to the South in the winters.

Warren and Corinne began their life together in Winnipeg and shared a passion for competitively racing their hobie-18 sailboat in their earlier years before the arrival of their children. They traveled across Manitoba, into Minnesota and Iowa for the division 7 Championships. Their trophies have a place of honour in their home.

Corinne graduated with her X-ray Technologist degree from Red River College / St Boniface Hospital in 1986 and practised through to 2008. In the 2005 she upgraded her education by adding a Mammography degree. Patients appreciated her caring and compassion and the radiologists often recognized the quality of her work.

Her friends were important to Corinne. Her trips to Las Vegas with Kim and friends were some of the best times she ever had. A favourite event of Corinne's was "GNO" (Girls Night Out) that she organized to get together to share laughter and stories. It became an evening that none of the girls wanted to miss and will be continued as a tribute to their dear friend.

The family would also like to send a special thanks to the Melanie, Sandy and the caregivers at the Southwood Hospice.

In lieu of flowers it is Joelle's wish that any charitable donations be made in memory of her Mommy to The Tom Baker Cancer Centre through the Alberta Cancer Foundation at www.albertacancer.ca or by phoning (403) 521-3433.

A memorial funeral service was held on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Bethany Chapel (3333 Richardson Way SW, Calgary)
