Few lived life as fully as Bud Brewster; cowboy, carpenter, businessman, entrepreneur, husband, father, grandfather and friend. Bud rode his last horse out of the corral from Buffalo Street at 83 years old.
His relentless work ethic, sense of humor and love of politics touched everyone who knew him. His business acumen and commitment to the visitor experience in Banff National Park is stuff of legend. Since his great grandfather arrived in Banff, the Brewster family has outfitted generations of travelers; Bud continued this tradition by building Brewster Mountain Pack Trains, Brewster Lake Louise Stables, Kananaskis Guest Ranch, Mount View Barbecue, Shadow Lake Lodge, Brewster Mountain Lodge, Kananaskis Ranch Golf Course.
He is lovingly remembered by his caring and devoted wife and partner of 52 years Annette, daughters Janet (Kevin), Cori (Jacqueline) and Alison (Bryan) as well as his grandchildren Lacey, Bailee, River, Morgan, and Joleen.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude and thanks
to Dr. Lynn Marriott, Bev Abelseth, the nurses that cared for him
at home: Myra Santiago, Mari Hirota and Linda Bowman, all the nurses
in acute care at the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital, Glen Matthews, Banff Fire and EMS and the women of the IODE.
Cremation has taken place. Bud requested no funeral service but promised an `Irish Wake' at the Brewster donut tent in Banff
in the spring.
