Clarice was born in Maryfield, Saskatchewan in July of 1917 to Clarence and Bessie Ross. One of seven children, she resided in Antler as a child and attended school there. She married Jim Duncan in 1941 and they moved to Virden, Manitoba to farm.
Jim and Clarice moved to Banff in the fall of 1949 due to Jim's health where Jim found work with Parks Canada. Clarice was a stay at home mom, raising her two girls and sometimes renting out rooms in their house during the tourist season.
Jim passed away in 1978 and Clarice then moved to Canmore where she resided in her own home until she moved to extended care at the Golden Eagle View, where she resided until her passing.
Clarice leaves to mourn her two daughters, Maxine Toma and Bonnie Giesbrecht; four grandchildren, Connie Korrall (Roger), Laurie Woelinga (Gerald), Jim Toma (Janice), Lisa Giesbrecht (James) as well as seven great grandchildren, Blair (Geniene), Jamie (Kenny), Tyler (Carla), Ashley, Riley, Erin and Emily. Clarice also leaves two sisters, Maxine, and Eunice and one brother Ford.
A private service of interment will be held on Friday, July 27, 2012 in the Mountain View Cemetery in Banff where Clarice will be laid to rest next to Jim.
