Charles Itkin passed away peacefully at Canmore Hospital
at the age of 94.
He will be sadly missed by his children, Linda and Allan, his grandchildren Aaron and Caylie and the countless others whose
lives he touched.
All who knew this gentle soul were struck by his warmth,
wit and zest for life.
Charles treasured his independence and was an avid traveller.
When he wasn't on a trip, he was poring over brochures and planning his next! But he also enjoyed his simple life in Canmore. Most mornings he could be found at Good Earth enjoying the company of those who popped in, and reading the morning paper that staff had tucked away behind the counter for him.
He did not take his health for granted and felt blessed to have a wonderful team of healthcare professionals who were as invested in his quality of life as he was. There were some close calls over the years!
We wish to extend a debt of gratitude to Dr. Gerald Duggleby for the tireless care he provided Charles, and to the many staff at Canmore Hospital who cared for him at one time or another. We are especially grateful for the compassion we were shown in Charles' final days in Acute Care.
At his request there will be no formal service following his cremation. The family will host a Celebration of his life. For more information, please contact his daughter Linda at: linda.seyler@gmail.com
Donations in Charles' memory can be made to the Canmore and Area Healthcare Foundation, 1100 Hospital Place, Canmore T1W 1N2
