Chantal Leclerc

Chantal Leclerc left us after a courageous battle against breast cancer

at the age of fifty-seven. Chantal was born on the south shore of Québec City and moved out west at a young age, full of energy and a great appetite for the outdoors and Alberta's beautiful landscape.

Chantal settled in Banff where she lived and worked as an elementary school teacher, sharing her love of music and French to her young students for more than 20 years. Her familiar face in Banff will be missed by many.

She leaves behind her father Germain, her mother Jeanne d'Arc Ferland, her brother Daniel, her beloved daughter Emma, many friends and extended family.

Heartfelt thanks the doctors, nurses and staff at the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital for their kind and compassionate care, and especially Rick Kline and the pastoral support team who supported her in her final days, with dignity and respect, for which we are most grateful.

An intimate remembrance will take place in Banff, date and location to be communicated in a near future.

Friends wishing to remember Chantal are encouraged to make a donation, in her memory, to the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital, P.O. Box 1050, Banff, in support of the Clinical Pastoral Support Team, so that they may continue their very valuable work, or to Breast Cancer Supportive Care, # 700 - 10665 Jasper Ave., Edmonton, AB T5J 3S9.
