Warner Cecil Watson of Canmore, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Canmore Hospital on June 29, 2014.
Cecil is survived by his wife Mary, son Rex (Linda) and daughters Kathleen and Valerie (Paul), five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is pre-deceased by his son Tyler. Cecil is also survived by sisters Eleanor, Virginia and Mayanne.
Cecil was born and raised in Claresholm before embarking on a career in the oil industry. He worked for many years as a seismic surveyor, first for United Geophysical and then for Hudson's Bay Oil & Gas. Cecil enjoyed the outdoor work, the travel and the camaraderie of life on a seismic crew. Cecil, Mary and their children travelled with the crew to many towns across Alberta and Saskatchewan. Cecil and Mary settled in Calgary before retiring to Canmore almost 30 years ago.
In retirement, they enjoyed trips to Disneyland and several cruises. Cecil and Mary had been married for 64 years. Cecil always enjoyed walks around Canmore especially if they ended with a coffee and muffin at Tim Hortons.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the many
Home Care workers and the community support that was so lovingly provided to Cecil over the past few years.
