Cathie Savoie

Catherine Marie Savoie was born to Denis François Savoie and

Bernice Ethel Harvey on April 23, 1949 in Winnipeg Manitoba and passed away peacefully in the early hours of February 21, 2022

after a long battle with cancer.

Cathie had many great stories of growing up in Thompson and Winnipeg with her brothers Rick (Elaine), Joe (Doreen), Tom (Laurie) and Eddie. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba she put her career on hold to have a family. She welcomed her sons John (Ruby) and Eric (Keri) into the world in the frigid Winnipeg winters before moving to Vancouver to raise them. Cathie courageously went back to school at the age of 39 to get a diploma in Financial Management from BCIT and then went on to earn her CA designation, alongside many colleagues who were ½ her age.

Over the years, she enjoyed helping her many clients, whom she

also called friends.

In February 2003, she married her loving husband, David Reycraft, and welcomed step-daughter, Devon, into the family. Together, Cathie and David enjoyed living in New Westminster, Richmond, Queensboro, Anglemont and Canmore. They went on several adventures abroad in Europe and Mexico.

Cathie had many hobbies throughout her life including hiking, dragon boat racing, tap and ballroom dancing, playing the bass guitar, singing, travelling, and playing bridge. The biggest loves of her life were reading and her family, including her 5 grandchildren (Aaron, Jason, Ryann, Kendra and Jeremy). She was a selfless person, putting everyone before herself, making everyone feel welcome in her home and caring for her extended family. She was pre-deceased by her brother Eddie, son John and nephew Garrett. Cathie will be lovingly missed by her family, including her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
