Caroline Stefaroi

Mary Caroline Stefaroi (nee Vanzant) passed away peacefully at the Canmore Hospital at the age of 82. She leaves behind her loving husband of 63 years, Alex; her son Doug and her granddaughters Tamara (Kenton) and Brittany (J.P.).

Caroline grew up on a farm in Stouffville, Ontario. She met Alex while walking home one day and he offered her a ride. She accepted. They were married in 1956. In 1964, they moved from Stouffville to start a new life with their family in Beaverton, ON.

It was here on the farm that she perfected the art of baking pies.

Then in 1984, Caroline and Alex decided to spend their time at

their new cottage on Lake Dalrymple. Here, she enjoyed

the cottage life surrounded by new and old friends.

After many trips to Canmore visiting her son and family, Caroline

and her husband decided to move west in 2010 to be closer to

"The Kids". On her daily walks, Caroline enjoyed meeting her friends for a coffee and a treat. She also loved walks along the river where she appreciated the mountain views with her family.

Caroline spent her final years living in Golden Eagle View long-term care at the Canmore Hospital where she was close to Alex. She enjoyed many outings and activities organized by the wonderful staff. Some of Caroline's hobbies were knitting and crocheting. She was often found with a few projects on the go.

The family would like to thank everyone at the Canmore Hospital

and Golden Eagle View for their outstanding care, compassion and friendship.

Friends wishing to remember Caroline are encouraged to make

a donation, in her memory, to their local SPCA.
