Brian Gibson

Brian Frederick Alfred Gibson passed away peacefully in the

Golden Eagle View long term care centre where he lived for

the last almost five years of his life.

Born in Peace River, Alberta, Brian is survived by his loving wife of

61 years, Shirley and their three Children. His son Brent (Farideh) and children Hannah and Shireen; his daughter Lorie and children Joshua, Cole and Hillary; and son Glenn (Stacey).

Brian was predeceased by his brother Denis, and his mother

and father May and Alfie.

Brian lived and worked most of his life in Calgary, working within the

Oil and Gas sector. He was an active sports enthusiast, participating in hard ball and badminton with a great passion.

His family will always remember family camping and hiking trips, filled with lots of laughter and campfires. We will also remember many hours spent together at the Calgary Winter Club.

Brian was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and son. He was a wonderful, quiet, compassionate man who will be missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to express their gratitude and deep appreciation to all the staff of the Golden Eagle View for their loving and constant care. We would also like to thank Dr. J. Michalyshn for all of his support with Brian's health challenges later in his life.

Celebration of Brian's life was held Friday, November 7, 2014 in Ralph Connor Memorial United Church in Canmore.
