Bob Needham

Robert "Bob" Ivan Needham, beloved husband of Donna, passed away on June 6, 2019 in Calgary, two days before his 88th birthday. Besides his loving wife, Bob is survived by his four sons: Don (Marla), Ken (Charlene), Ron (Debbie), and Doug (Jean); his sister Elaine Hadford; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bob's work career started with Imperial Pipeline in Nisku and ended with Dome Petroleum Ltd. in Calgary. After his early retirement,

he became a "silent partner" in an RV Park and fishing camp at Bowser, B.C. He also volunteered to teach conversational English for 3 months in Bratislava, Slovakia (we remain good friends with one of the families Bob tutored). While living in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Bob was the official "tour guide" for family and friends. He loved Mexico and spent many happy hours in his van - camping and exploring. A major highlight was going to see where the Monarch butterflies winter. After retiring the van we drove down in the car and stayed at Rincon de Guayabitos and more recently in Arizona. During the last 3 years, we were able to enjoy a River Cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest, a one day trip to Churchill to view the polar bears, and a vacation at Guayabitos.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Carewest Colonel Belcher, Dieppe Unit in Calgary for all their loving care provided to Bob over the past three months. Also, we want to thank the amazing Home Care - NW 1 Calgary Team which allowed Bob to live at home as long as he was able. Another thank you to Lynn Hawthorne for her respite assistance over the past several years.

Bob had a zest for life and an infectious laugh. He loved his family, travel, the outdoors, our beautiful West Highland Terriers, and in later life his hobbies - crafts and watch repairs.

At Bob's request there will not be a service. He asks that you drink a toast, tell some "Bob stories" - there are plenty of them!, and enjoy a meal with friends and family.

Bob enjoyed a life well lived and well loved.
