Bill Mccaffrey

William Gerald Edward McCaffrey passed away on Friday,

August 24, 2012 at St. Martha's Place in Banff at the age of 87 years.

Bill is survived by his nieces Irene Stewart, Margaret Morrison, Diane Morrison, Francine and Izabel Cote, and nephews Denis and Michel Cote and Gerald Morrison, as well as his dear friends Linda Fortier of Quebec and Anne Douglas, Jane Pearson and Cheryl Sabo Graham of Banff and Canmore.

Bill shared his "Joie de vive" with all who knew him and was often seen on Canmore's Main Street sharing his warmth and charm with children of all ages. Bill spent many hours volunteering in the schools, Health Unit, Community Care and the Canmore Folk Festival over the years after moving to Canmore. He covered a broad spectrum of ages ranging from infants right through to seniors. He was always willing to lend a helping hand where needed. He would carry dog treats in his pocket to share a special moment with his K9 friends.

Bill lived a full and complete life of great adventure and friendships.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Thank you to Dr. Hawkins and staff for the wonderful care Bill received while in the Canmore Hospital, the staff at the Lodge as well as everyone in Community Care. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Bill's Life was held at

St. Michael's Anglican Church, 709 – 7 Street in Canmore on Friday
