Betty Macdonald

d. November 22, 2017

Betty Isobel MacDonald (nee Claughton), one of the greatest wits of our time, was born on June 3, 1932, the youngest child and only daughter of Bertha Bieraugel and Bob Claughton. She had three older brothers - Gordon (deceased), Don (Sharon) and Lloyd (Rose). Betty was born and grew up in Peace River and made lifelong friends there. She married Robert Margach when she was 18. They had one child, Rebecca. Robert passed away when Rebecca was 2. Betty worked at Imperial Oil for several years where she met Murray MacDonald.

She and Murray married on January 27, 1956 in Peace River.

Besides Murray, Betty is survived by her children Rebecca Wood,

John MacDonald, Neil MacDonald (Alexandra) and Susan Keen (Norm). Betty was an exceptional mom, grandmother, great-grandmother,

aunt and great-aunt. She managed to make each grandchild and

great-grandchild feel that they were her favorite.

She and Murray enjoyed 4 grandchildren - Kristen Knibbs (Dave),

Erin Wood, Carson Keen (Leia) and Beth Keen (Dan) and 3 great-grandchildren, Dylan Gillespie, Isobel Knibbs and Cooper Moss. She will also be fondly remembered by her extended family and friends.

Betty's family would like to thank Golden Eagle View long-term
