Augusto Bianchi passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 23, 2016 after a brief battle with cancer.
Born in Piazzatorre, Italy on March 30, 1949, Augusto traded the Italian Alps for the Rocky Mountains, arriving in Banff in 1975 where he met the love of his life, Louise, and together they raised their family. Although he made Canada his home, his heart was always close to his family in Italy. Augusto was most happy spending time outside in the mountains, going for long hikes, working in his garden, tending to his bees, or creating beautiful birdhouses. Recently he found joy playing with his two wonderful grandchildren.
Vigil Prayers were said Thursday, February 25, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Parish in Banff.
Funeral Mass was Celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church Friday, February 26, 2016.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Christopher Bianchi Nutritional Centre in Rungu, Congo. A donation box will be available at the funeral, or contact the family for information.
