Anthony Marcynuik

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Anthony William Marcynuik (Flap, Coach, Big Dog) beloved life partner, father, brother, uncle, and great uncle and a truly honest friend.

Anthony (don't call me Tony if you want a response) is survived by his life partner Val, son Dustin (Amy), his sister Frances (Ted), his brother James; sister in laws, Rosemary (Jay), Rosanne (Dave), Marlene, his brother in law Ralph. He will be missed by his many nieces & nephews; Steven (Kim), Courtney (Simon), Connie (Luke), Damian (Chantal), Stephanie, Sarah (Alex), Devin, Daniel (Amy), Jasmine, Crystal and Owen; great nieces and nephew; Riley, Peyton, Brooklyn, Brady, and Kennedy.

Anthony's parents moved the family to Canmore in 1970 where he attended school. He started his work career seasonally in the cleaning service with Parks Canada. From there, his 35 years of service with Parks Canada led him to be a very talented carpenter. His work ethic and attention to detail included "no job is done until the cleanup is finished".

He loved his sports and activities; slo-pitch, curling, golf, pool league, bowling and hockey. His enjoyment of camping and all the ball tournaments he went to were the best of times for him.

He loved to socialize.

Anthony's easy going nature drew all to him and anyone that

interacted with him could say "What a nice guy" and could truly

call him a friend.

Anthony was predeceased by his father William (Bill) in December 1997 and his mother Yvonne in August 2012.

Anthony's Celebration of life was held Monday, January 13 at the Canmore Golf & Curling Club. As was with Anthony's love of all sports, all were invited to wear their favorite sports jersey in his memory.

Anthony, you can breathe easy now as you are at peace and loved by all. You will be missed fiercely, but we will remember all the good times and be able to laugh.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made, in his memory, to the Calgary ALS Society, 7874 - 10 St NE, Calgary, AB T2E 8W1 (403) 228-3847.
