Anne was taken from us on April 11, 2019 so she could be reunited
with her dear husband Bert. Anne was born to Joseph and Julia Pollock in Canmore on November 4, 1925 where she lived until she was
2 years of age. She and her parents moved to Calgary after that time. While growing up in Calgary she worked at the Blue Willow Tea Room, Dads Cookies & Birks Jewellers. As a young woman Anne returned to the Bow Valley.
While working in Banff, she met the love of her life, Bert Wilson at the Cascade Dance Hall. They had a whirlwind romance & Bert proposed
to her. They married on August 10, 1946 in Canmore at the United Church. On October 20, 1951 their daughter Connie was born.
They continued to live and raise their family in Canmore with Bert working at the Canmore Mines & then later going to the Banff Springs Hotel as a steam engineer. Anne, being the community minded person that she was, spent countless hours volunteering, loving every minute
of it. She sold Regal Greetings & Gifts to raise money for the United Church Manse, she organized all the outings for the Canmore Senior Centre Group which included trips to Stage West, the Casino and various trips around the world. She was a member of the Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, worked at the Tuck Shop at the hospital, volunteered for the '88 Winter Olympics and for the Northwest Mounted Police barracks project.
One of her passions was cooking & baking. It was a treat to have the wonderful smell of fresh bread hit you as you walked through the door. She would can & pickle on a yearly basis. She loved to putter in her yard, to play cards, to travel, to go golfing and to spend time with her family. She was always game for any new adventure. Being the eternal caregiver, the main focus of her life was making sure that all of her family members were taken care of. She was an animal lover at heart, but had a soft spot for dogs, they were her favourite.
She always had a loving smile, a warm hug & was a friend
to everyone. Anne lived a fulfilled life with love and happiness
while embracing every day.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to Anne's niece, Lori Southwood for her care and assistance during Anne's later years. Anne was predeceased by her husband Bert in 2004 and her brother, Stan. She is survived by her brother Ken (Alice); daughter Connie (Bryan); Grandchildren Karlea Correia (Gasper), Blake McLaughlin; Great Grandchildren Jared & Breanna Correia.
