Anna Timmins

It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Evelyn "Anna" Timmins announce her passing on Wednesday February 22, 2012 at her home in Canmore, while sleeping peacefully in her bed.

Anna was born in Woking, Surrey, England before immigrating with her parents to Canada at a very young age. In her formative years she briefly took up nursing, but the call of higher learning was strong and before long she found herself attending the University of Calgary where she earned two undergraduate degrees and began working on her Masters. It was then that the Lord decided to grace her life with the precious gift of two beautiful children, and she dedicated the rest of her life to them. Besides her children, and later on, her grandchildren, her second passion was writing, and she wrote prolifically throughout most of her life. A woman of great faith, Anna figured prominently in the service to her church and was a loud and vocal defender of all those less fortunate, particularly the poor and the unborn. Suffering greatly all her life with many debilitating physical ailments, her strength and courage and selfless commitment to those around her in spite of her frailties will forever be an example to us all.

Anna will be lovingly remembered by her children Basil and Reanne Timmins; sister Eleanor Timmins, and grandchildren Riley, Kristelle, Kyle, Brooke, and Josh.

Vigil Prayers were said Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 7:00 pm in Our Lady of the Rockies Parish, Sacred Heart Catholic Church,

810 – 7 Street, Canmore. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, March 1, 2012 with interment following in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery within Queen's Park Cemetery (32 Ave & 4 St. NW) in Calgary
