Andrew Hunt

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear son, Andrew, after a relapse of cancer, diagnosed last January. It was Andrew's wish to keep his illness private and continue on living his best…. Which he did!

Andrew was born in Banff and was attending school at Canmore Collegiate High School. During his brief 15-year life, he was a great athlete and had a tremendous love of sports. Andrew lost his right hip to bone cancer at age 13, and after completing treatment, with great determination traded his soccer cleats for golf cleats. He also discovered a passion for snorkeling.

Andrew's humour, warmth, courage and optimism were an inspiration to many. He will be forever missed by his mother, Laura, father, Bill, younger brother, Thomas, as well as grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends. We are forever grateful to our family, friends, and community for their steadfast support. Our last two years have been greatly enriched by the love and support of those around us. Andrew lived each day to the fullest and shared his energy with those around him.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alberta Children's Hospital, Canmore Community Care, the Canadian Cancer Society, or KidSport Alberta - Bow Valley Chapter.

A Celebration of Life memorial service was held Friday, June 22, 2012 in the Canmore Collegiate High School Gymnasium
