Amanda Burrowes

Amanda "Mandy" Sarah Burrowes passed away at the Canmore Hospital after being diagnosed with gastric cancer 7 months earlier.

She is survived by her husband Peter (Quinn), their two beautiful daughters Zoe and Molly, loving parents, Aubrey and Evelyn Burrowes and was predeceased by her sister Susan Matthews.

Mandy was born in England. She spent her formative years in Jamaica and then moved to Edmonton as a teenager. Mandy graduated from University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and then moved to Switzerland to obtain a three year Hotel Management Diploma from Ecole Les Roches. After living in both Switzerland and Jamaica,

Mandy relocated in 1994 to the Bow Valley, living in Banff, Lake Louise and Canmore. She was part of the Rimrock Resort Hotel's opening team, worked for Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, taught yoga,

was a very active community volunteer and even volunteered

with a rainforest reclamation project in Guatamala. Over the past few years, Mandy greatly enjoyed working as a member of Town of

Banff's Community Helpers Program.

Mandy had the most infectious smile you may ever see.

She was a bright light of love and she holds a special place

in the hearts of many.

Our deepest thanks go to Mandy's many family members and friends who loved her throughout her life and who were so much support to her over these past few months. A big thank you also goes to Dr. J. Fowke, all the staff at the Canmore Hospital and Tom Baker Cancer Center in Calgary for their professionalism, dedication and care.

A Memorial Service was held at St Michael's Church, 709 - 7 Street

in Canmore on Saturday, January 27, 2018.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a memorial fund for community programs in Morley. Donations to this fund can be made in Mandy's name, care of the Banff Canmore Community Foundation at www.banffcanmorecf.org
