Addie Ram

Adrianus (Addie) Johanus Arnoldus Ram beloved father, grandfather, and brother passed away peacefully in the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital on December 29, 2016 with his family at his side.

Addie was born March 7, 1929 in Holland. He married Janette (Jenny) Bosse on June 20, 1951 and immigrated to Canada living in Montreal for a short time then eventually settling in Banff, Alberta.

Addie's first job was at the Banff Springs Hotel in the food industry.

He was later employed in the Cascade Hotel, Voyager Inn & then the King Edward Hotel. In his later years he drove a taxi for Taxi Taxi

the local cab company for his friends Art & Sheila Powell - just for something to do.

His passion was coaching the local soccer teams for the Voyager Inn and King Edward Hotel. He'll always be remembered for his infectious smile, his kindness to all who encountered him, and his humour that will be his legacy.

Addie and Jenny made many trips to there beloved Holland, but always enjoyed there home in the Canadian Rockies - Banff.

Addie is survived by his family: his son Eddie (Colleen), his granddaughter Kaylee, his sister Suzie (Guy): nephews Marc, Philip and Alain: nieces Natalie, Vivianne, his sister Rykje (Bob) Andrea (Ryan) their sons Malcolm & Fletcher: niece Desiree (Alex) Barbara: Cousin Christa (Brian) her daughters Evelyn & Margaret: and many many more wonderful friends. Addie was predeceased by his Mother and Father, one sister in Holland, and his beloved wife Jenny.

A Gathering of family and friends was held at the Banff Royal Canadian Legion on Saturday, January 14, 2017.
