It is with immense sadness and regret that we share the passing of our mom, Ada Margaret (Watson) Sampson at the Canmore Hospital.
Ada, an only child, was born to Ruth (Watson) Johnson and Walter Watson at Nordegg, Alberta. She was always proud that her mother
was one of the first Vancouver City Police Women and her Dad a guide and hunting outfitter before he moved to Canmore and bought the Canmore Hotel in 1946-1964. Mom came to Canmore when she
was 14 to be with her dad and met her husband to be, Martin Sampson, when he was working for Mannix building the Spray Lake Dam. They were married in 1951, dad passed in 2009. In 1964 when Ada's dad, Walter Watson died, Dad retired from Canada Cement and they took over the hotel until 1976.
She will be remembered with love by her family: daughters Sharon Sampson of Canmore, Alta, and Brenda (Milt) Janzen of Balfour, BC; Grandsons; Mark (Jane) of Chico, Ca., Brad (Lara) of Collingwood, Ontario and Great Grandchildren Sean, Hannah of Chico, Ca. ,
Makena of Collingwood, Ont., Colin (Yolanda) Samspon of Calgary, Alta and
Meshell (Barry) White and Family of Newfoundland.
Ada's passions were her family, her friends, her home
and her beautiful summer yard which Sharon maintained for her.
Sharon and Brenda would like to thank Dr. Michalyshyn for his continued care of mom and the Canmore Hospital Staff for their compassion during this time.
By request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to make a donation, in Ada's memory to the Canmore Hospital or a charity of your choice.
Services provided by Russ Reynolds and Bow River Funeral Service.
